January Winter Fun Run
Our next Winter Fun Run will take place on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 2:00pm at OxBow County Park. We will meet at the Cottonwood Shelter for the 2RRC Poker Run. We are offering 2 distances for this run, a 3.5 mile course and a 5.25 mile course. Each runner will run to 5 different points in the park to collect an envelope with a card in it. When all runners are finished we will see who has the best three hands. Awards will be given to the best three hands for both distances. Cost for this run is $3.00 per person and refreshments will be provided after the run. As always, you don't need to be a Two Rivers Running Club member to come and join the fun. If you have any questions about the run, feel free to email us at information@2rrc.org. We hope to see you there.

Winter Fun Runs & more...
'Tis the season. It's getting cold outside and it's getting harder and harder to motivate yourself to get those miles in. We have a solution, the Two Rivers Running Club Winter Fun Runs. Our first Winter Fun Run will take place on Sunday, December 5th at 2pm. It is the Hot Chocolate Prediction Run. The run is approximately 3.6 miles. The location will be the OxBow Park Cottonwood Shelter. The cost for the run is $3.00 per person..no shirts, no frills, just lots of fun out in the cold...hot chocolate and snacks provided. This run is open to everyone, you do not need to be a member to take part in the fun. The only thing we ask is that you please RSVP that you are attending the run so we have an idea about how many snacks to bring. You can RSVP us at information@2rrc.org. We will also have runs in January, February and March, dates will be available soon.
The 2010 Race Series is now officially ended. We had 15 club members in the adult divisions qualify for year end awards. We had 7 youth qualify as well. Congratulations to all of our runners on another great race series. Preliminary ballots for the 2011 race series will be available soon.

The OxBow Tower Run/Walk was a Success!!!
Thank you to everyone who showed up to participate in and support the OxBow Tower Run/Walk. We had a turnout of over 400 participants. Thanks to all of you, the run/walk raised just over $7,000!
We would like to thank all of our sponsors: First Place Trophy, MapleNet Wireless, Martins Supermarket, KMart, and Sam's Club. A special thank you to all of our volunteers from our club, our families, and other volunteers from Elkhart Christian Academy and the Elkhart County Parks Department. We could not have done it without you!
We would also like to thank you for your patience while you waiting in the finish line until we got your number. We did not anticipate such a huge turnout, and that slowed things up a bit. We will be considering Chip Timing in the future.
We would love your feedback...please feel free to add a comment.

It's been kind of quiet...
It has been kind of quiet around here the last week or so. It's getting to be that time of year when things are winding down. There are fewer and fewer races to run but still lots of training to do.
We have revised our training/group runs for the fall. We are no longer meeting on Thursday nights at OxBow Park. Instead, we will now be meeting on Sundays at 2pm at OxBow Park starting on November 14th. Of course we will still be running from the millrace in Goshen at 8:30am on Sundays as well.
I look forward to this time of year because that's when all of the fun begins. With our Sunday afternoon group runs, we will start our Winter Fun Runs once a month. Each month will have a different theme and different distance to run. We will start our first one in December so keep an eye out on our website to see when and what it is.
Also, don't forget that next Sunday is our OxBow Tower 5K Run and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk. We have just over 200 registered and are looking forward to a great event!

What a great day...
Thank you to all who helped to make the 2nd Annual Fall Hustle a success this year! We had great weather for our race which is always nice for this time of year. We also had some good competition too.
The race was won by Matt Jones in a time of 17:16, second place was Timothy Liu, and 3rd place was Bill Keller. Our men's master winner was Alberto Jimenez.
On the women's side, Rebecca Liu was 1st place in a time of 22:58, 2nd place was Estela Pedraza, and 3rd place was Shelly Steury. Our women's master winner was Gayle Green.
Hawthorne Elementary was represented by a group of 10 year olds. They all did a great job running their first 5K. Hopefully they will continue on.
All in all, every one of the participants did a great job. We had a turnout of 61 competitors this year. We hope to grow even more next year. Thanks again to all!
If you would like to view race results, they are now posted.
