Winter Fun Run & Training Schedule Updates

Today was the last winter fun run of the 2010-2011 winter season.  We will resume our fun runs in December 2011.  Thank you to all who came out this winter to enjoy the cold, snow, and fun with us!

Today's run was a 30 min or 45 min prediction run with trivia questions.  Runners chose their time and could run anywhere in OxBow park that they chose as long as they crossed the finish line in their chosen time.  To add a twist, there were 3 points in the park that a runner could go to be eligible to answer trivia questions to help adjust their time by 20 seconds per question...if they got it correct.  Congratulations to our winners:  1st - Deb Miller, 2nd - Loretta LeCount, 3rd - Kent Matney, 4th - Katrina Godzisz.

Now that Daylight Savings time has arrived, we are ending our 2:00pm Sunday training runs.  We will be adding a Thursday night training run at OxBow Park at 6:00pm.  We meet at the parking lot across from the sledding hill.  We will continue our Wednesday night training runs at Abshire Park in Goshen at 5:15pm.  Hope to see there!

Until next time...happy running!

January Winter Fun Run

Our next Winter Fun Run will take place on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 2:00pm at OxBow County Park.  We will meet at the Cottonwood Shelter for the 2RRC Poker Run.  We are offering 2 distances for this run, a 3.5 mile course and a 5.25 mile course.  Each runner will run to 5 different points in the park to collect an envelope with a card in it.  When all runners are finished we will see who has the best three hands.  Awards will be given to the best three hands for both distances.  Cost for this run is $3.00 per person and refreshments will be provided after the run.  As always, you don't need to be a Two Rivers Running Club member to come and join the fun.  If you have any questions about the run, feel free to email us at information@2rrc.org.  We hope to see you there.
